Gemstones formed into small disks are referred to as flat stones, palm stones, worry stones and healing stones.  The flat shape allows these stones to lie nicely against a surface, so they are great for wearing in pockets, or for lying upon the body.  Flat stones carry the energy and healing qualities of the stone, and can be useful in healing practices, or for collecting.
