The Yaogangxian Mine has been one of the most important mines in China, producing Tungsten-tin since the early 1900's. Searching only for Tungsten, the miners discarded all other mineral specimens, which the locals began to gather and sell. It honors the adage, "one man's junk is another man's treasure." Some of the prettiest fluorite in the world comes from this mine.
This purple/ blue fluorite specimen consists of several partially formed cubes with deep zones of purple on the edges. The color is an exquisite blend of both colors, with little phantoms in some areas. One termination has a small chip, but otherwise, the specimen is in excellent shape.
